The Roadrunner多元化学者计划 (RDSP) is an academic enrichment scholarship program designed to support the recruitment and 保留 of outstanding undergraduate students from groups historically underrepresented in the field of education and first-generation students in 密歇根州立大学丹佛’s 教育学院 (SOE). The program will support student scholars in their pursuit of academic and professional goals. 该项目通过奖学金提供联系和支持, 组织社会文化活动, 网络, 教师指导, and intentional and consistent advising for academic and professional development.
Roadrunner多元化学者项目支持招聘, 保留, academic success and career preparation of outstanding undergraduate students from groups historically underrepresented in the field of education and first-generation undergraduate students. This program demonstrates one distinctive approach for the 教育学院’s commitment to promoting justice through 多样性, 股本 and 包容 and supporting students in meeting academic and professional goals.
The vision of the Roadrunner多元化学者计划 is to support the recruitment and 保留 of student scholars enrolled in 教育学院 Teacher Preparation 项目. Research and experience both demonstrate that underrepresented racial/ethnic minority students perform better academically and are more likely to experience academic success when they are part of a cohort of others who share similar social identities. This premise/understanding is central to the mission of the Roadrunners Diversity Scholars Program. The program connects students to a small community within the 教育学院 to provide an active and engaged social and professional network. 学生 participate in activities that offer space to share experiences, 通过课外活动实践公民参与, and participate in opportunities that enhance their readiness for careers in education and/or graduate studies. This includes career preparation activities beyond what is offered in classroom curriculum, opportunities to connect and engage with professionals in the community, 领导经验, and active membership in a growing social and professional network of RDSP alumni.
